SKI RESORTS

SKIING AT AUSTRIA´S TOP SKI RESORTS

Niedernsill’s splendid setting allows quick access to some of the best ski resorts in the Alps. This means that our ALPINE VIEW APARTMENTS make an ideal base for skiers for whom one ski resort isn’t enough!

KAPRUN – KITZSTEINHORN GLETSCHER AND MAISKOGEL

The Kitzsteinhorn Glacier ski resort offers perfect snow conditions from October to May and is one of the most popular glacier resorts in Austria. The ski runs go up to a height of 3,029 metres and offer varied terrain with an authentic glacier feel over a stretch of 42 km. The long-awaited connection between Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn will also be finished in time for winter 2019/20. Once it is complete, the connection will allow you to reach the glacier directly from the centre of Kaprun.

ZELL AM SEE – SCHMITTEN

Schmitten in Zell am See is an absolute El Dorado for skiers who appreciate a leisurely approach. The entrance is a 15-minute drive from the areitXpress in Zell am See. Varied ski terrain stretches over almost 80 kilometres of pistes that are ideal for families and more advanced skiers alike. Schmitten is all about making skiing a pleasurable experience. What’s more, its views are simply unparalleled within the Alps! From winter 2019/20, two zellamseeXpress services will connect it with Viehhofen and thus the nearby Glemmtal. This also provides a seamless connection between Schmitten and the Ski Circus of Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn. And best of all, from this winter, Kitzsteinhorn, Schmitten and the Ski Circus can be accessed with a joint ski pass, the AlpinCard. That’s 408 kilometres of pistes with a single pass!

KITZBÜHEL – KITZSKI

The KitzSki ski resort is also easy to reach from Niedernsill, via the Resterhöhe in Mittersill (15 minutes away). Some 230 kilometres of pistes and an exclusive feel await skiers in Kitzbühel-Kirchberg! From the legendary strip to the sunlit slopes of the Resterhöhe, this spot has everything the skier could desire!

UTTENDORF - WEISSSEE GLETSCHERWELT

The Weißsee Glacier Ski Resort lies at the head of the Stubach valley. It has 23 kilometres of mostly easy to intermediate pistes and is a real insiders’ secret for skiing away from the crowded slopes. Its setting high in the alps makes it particularly popular with backcountry and off-piste skiers. It is not unusual for the winter season there to last well into April, on account of its altitude.

SAALBACH-HINTERGLEMM-LEOGANG-FIEBERBRUNN SKI CIRCUS

The Ski Circus has been a byword for top skiing for years. Snow-lovers can look forward to 270 kilometres of pistes that run between Salzburg and Tirol. From Niedernsill or Schmitten, travelling to the Ski Circus takes roughly 30 minutes. Skiers who like to take things at a leisurely pace will be perfectly at home on the sweeping slopes of the Glemmtal, with mostly blue and red runs. What’s more, Saalbach-Hinterglemm has an established reputation as a top location for parties and events!
